Marble Sculpture Mounted on Pedestal by Norma Flanagan

This sculpture was in a private collection and was purchased in the early 1990s. This sculpture by artist Norma Flanagan is a rare example; she concentrated largely on encaustic painting and occasionally jewelry design. She has been a long time artist in residence at the Silvermine Guild in New Canaan Connecticut, which has for more than 75 years established itself as an integral part of the Northeast’s cultural scene.Sculpture is attached to a solid pedestal of wood by a large bronze pin that fits into a hole in sculpture’s base. Sculpture is made to rotate atop its pedestal. Pedestal is attached to a flat black metal base plate. Sculpture is signed at base.
