3D Skull Portrait "How They See Us" by Samuel Greg, 2018
Regular price
$2,400.00
This skull was derived from a skeleton preserved by the Smithsonian National Museum. The skull portrait was carved from a 2" slab of engineered wood by a large format computer controlled machine. From a distance it appears smooth and consistent but when approached the digital nature of its manufacture is revealed. While hurtling toward a future with an uncertain or perhaps uncanny relationship with machines that perceive, it may do us well to pause for a moment to contemplate "how they see us". Finished in white flat enamel. Measures: 42' x 60" inside frame. 45.5" x 63.5" framed.
